What Is A 'Detox Bath'?
Detox baths are a great way to soothe aching muscles and relax your busy brain. They can even help alleviate cold symptoms. They involve a bit more than just adding your favorite bubble bath or bath bomb, but they are worth the effort! The bonus? You might have all of the ingredients you need right at home! So fill your tub with comfortably warm/hot water and get going! Here are a few of our favorites.
Detox Bath Recipes!
Got Sore Muscles? Try The Green Tea Detox Bath:
My absolute favorite recipe for a super relaxing and soothing detox bath? The green tea detox bath. After a busy week, with an even more active weekend where I tested my athleticism by creating my own 'marathon' of games playing ice hockey, my body was ACHING for some sweet relief. I made sure to hydrate and eat well the night before this bath. (Please note: I recommend soaking after intense exercise/activities the next day because you might get a bit dizzy and lightheaded due to unknowingly being dehydrated.)
The Recipe:
5-10 Green Tea Bags
1-2 cups of Epsom Salt
1-2 cups of Baking Soda
Optional: Add some of your favorite bubble baths or essential oils for the ultimate relaxation.
Feeling Under The Weather? Try The Ginger Detox Bath:
This detox bath will get you sweating out your cold in no time! Just take note: Sweating essentially dehydrates you. Be sure to hydrate well after this bath. Be careful getting up and out because you might feel lightheaded if you get overheated. Please exercise caution!
The Recipe:
1-2 cups of Epsom Salt
1-2 cups of Baking Soda
⅓ cup of ground Ginger
Stressed To The Gills? Try The Lavender Detox Bath:
Lavender essential oil has proven, time and again, to be an excellent aid to help reduce stress. It's no wonder that it would be incredibly beneficial in a relaxing detox bath to reduce stress levels and get you back on the path to a clear mind.
The Recipe:
1-2 cups of Epsom Salt
1-2 cups of Baking Soda
10 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
Remember to benefit from these soaks; it is suggested to hydrate well by drinking plenty of water.
