What is Tinea Versicolor?

Tinea versicolor is a common fungal infection of the skin. The fungus interferes with the normal pigmentation of the skin, resulting in small, discolored patches. These patches may be lighter or darker in color than the surrounding skin and most commonly affect the trunk and shoulders.

These spots, blotches, and patches can vary in color from tan to brown to pink or white, depending on your skin's natural tone. These patches can also be scaly, itchy, and painful.

This fungal infection is not harmful or dangerous to you in any way. It is also not contagious to other people. Still, without treatment, the condition will continue to persist - and sometimes escala

Antifungal creams, lotions, or shampoos can help treat tinea versicolor. But it is important to remember that even after eliminating the fungal infection, discoloration of this skin may persist for several weeks to months, depending on sun exposure, before returning to normal.

Tinea versicolor is known to return after infection occurs. Still, luckily the condition is very easily treatable. With Naturasil Tinea Versicolor treatment products, you will always have a natural, cruelty-free, and non-toxic way to treat your skin.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Shake Well.

2. Cleanse skin thoroughly; we recommend our Tinea Soap before applying lotion.

3. Apply lotion 2-3 times per day to the affected areas until the tinea versicolor has cleared. This lotion is part of a two-step system requiring you to use the soap and lotion together.

4. Re-exposure to UV rays and the sun is essential in bringing back the melanin pigment of your skin.

  • Why Sulfur?

Simply put, sulfur is a natural element that is an essential component for all living cells. After calcium and phosphorus, it is the third most abundant mineral in the human body. Sulfur is common in rocks and minerals and is essential for plant growth. It's also found throughout our body in amino acids, vitamins, and skin and hair.

Sulfur is best known for its vibrant yellow color and strong (egg-like) smell.

Sulfur has been used throughout history for medical purposes ranging from a medicinal tonic to a vermifuge (deworming agent).*

  • Sulfur + Lavender = A Power Couple

We have now learned the many uses of Sulfur! This essential element works because it offers anti-bacterial and antifungal properties. It cleans, clears, and destroys all bacteria and fungi to leave your skin fresh.

Lavender, on the other hand, holds many calming properties. It has been used medicinally as a disinfectant, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and aromatherapy throughout the ages.

  • Why Do We Love It?

Utilizing what we know about Sulfur, we have developed a soap that eliminates pesky blemishes, irritating itches, and embarrassing skin problems.

The Sulfur in our soap breaks down bacteria and fungus. At the same time, Lavender Oil offers soothing relief that also has anti-inflammatory properties. This powerful combination has made this soap one of our company's best-selling products.

Tips, Tricks, and Advice from Other People Just Like You

Consistency Is Critical

"Over the summer, I started to form these discolored patches on my chest and shoulders. A quick google search told me that it was Tinea Versicolor. A few more searches had me on a wild goose chase trying to find a "at home" treatments; one that was both safe and effective. That is when I happened to come across Naturasil treatment kit!
I ordered it based on the results I saw and the reviews I read. All the best results came with the same advice - "Be Consistent".
A few days later when my order arrived, I made sure to follow the directions and stick with it. Within 3 days, I was already seeing results! My best advice is one that was passed on from other success stories: Be Consistent

Get Out In The Sun!

"What kind of treatment plan can you find that REQUIRES you to get out in the sun after treatment? When I read in the directions that it was "doctor's orders" to get out in the sun after using the soap and the lotion, I was excited to try this product and see if it actually works.

I've had tinea versicolor for years so it took some time for ALL of my spots to go away but within a week, I did see some major change to the discolored spots. Apparently, you need to get out in the sun after treatment because the skin needs the sun to produce melanin in those blotchy areas; that's what makes your skin tone even again.

I don't usually recommend things but when I saw that my buddy had tinea this summer as well, I made sure to tell him about the thing that worked for me."

If Your Skin Is Dry, Use An Unscented Lotion To Moisturize

"I have sensitive skin - always have. It dries out easily, I burn really easily, I have to be careful of what products I use on my skin; it is what it is.

When I saw the patches starting to form on my skin, I had no idea what I was in for or how to treat it.

I went to a dermatologist and was told that I had tinea versicolor. The derm gave me a lotion for it but my skin didn't react well so I did some research on my own.

I was leery at first. It is a sulfur treatment and sulfur does dry out your skin but I took the treatment slow and did a test patch to be sure it would work for me. Although I didn't break out from the soap or the topical liquid, I did dry out from the sulfur.

I just used a light, unscented moisturizing lotion when I needed it and cut down the use of the soap when my skin needed a little break.

The treatment took a little bit longer than the usual results because I needed to take things slowly but it worked!"

Be Patient With Your Skin!

"I had a wedding coming up so I started tanning to help even out my skin tone for the pictures and get rid of the tan lines that were bound to come out in the pictures. I think that's when the tinea started.

I was SO Frustrated! I wanted even an even skin tone and here I was with these patches all over my back!? With the wedding in less than two months, I needed something that would work - and fast! I tried Naturasil on a whim and I am so glad that I did. I followed the directions to a T. I used the soap in the shower, the lotion directly afterwards and even treated the worst spots with the topical liquid. Since it is in the directions to get some sun, I made sure to get about 10-15 mins in the sun every day.

A few days before the wedding and my skin is even again. I couldn't be more thankful to Naturasil for saving the day. It has taken time and patience and work on my part but without Naturasil, I don't know what my tinea would look like right now."

Let The Lather Soak In To Your Skin

"When I was treating my tinea versicolor, what I found to work was leaving the lathered soap on my skin for a few minutes before washing it off.

I really liked the smell of the lavender in the soap and it didn't bother my skin to let it sit on there for a few minutes so I thought "What the heck? Why not?"

I was able to see results within a few days and I was amazed at how fast the treatments were working! Honestly, I'm just happy to have found something that worked and didn't involve dandruff shampoo or harmful chemicals."

Where Did This Tinea Versicolor Come From?

Tinea versicolor fungus can be found on healthy skin. It is only a problem when the fungus begins to overgrow. Several factors may trigger this growth, including:

  • Hot, Humid Weather
  • Oily Skin
  • Hormonal Changes
  • Weakened Immune System

Sometimes this fungus can be challenging to eliminate. Still, with Naturasil Tinea Versicolor products, relief comes with an all-natural, safe and effective guarantee.

  • Works Excellent

"I have tinea versicolor really bad across my chest. It was a dark reddish area. But After about a week and a half of using this soap 2 times a day now the versicolor is fading away. You can hardly even see it. Would recommend this to anyone."

It Really Works!

"I’m literally impressed with the progress of my TV over the course of just a couple days. I didn’t use it as instructed but instead, I followed the instructions of a reviewer who saw fast results. I use the soap with an exfoliating glove and exfoliate the affected areas to help break apart and remove the dead skin & fungus. Then after I pat my skin dry, I dry rub the soap into my skin on the affected areas and leave it on. The smell isn’t as bad as some people make it seem."

It WORKS

"I've used this product for about 5 days now, and I've seen my tinea versicolor clear up significantly! I've been struggling with tinea versicolor for close to a year now and nothing seemed to work until I decided to give this a try! I've seen many reviews complain about the smell, but I honestly had no problem with it. It smells like lavender and just the tiniest hint of sulfur (ladies, it smells similar to getting a perm) When using this product, I lather up the soap bar with water, apply it over the spots and just let it soak into my skin without rinsing. I'm genuinely surprised by how quickly the rash is fading. I've added a before and after picture for reference of my progress :) day 1 to day 3. Highly recommend trying this before spending lots of money on expensive medications. Good luck to you all!"

10+ years of it and it's finally going away!

"Ordering your soap from Amazon isn't the most fun, but I'm more than happy to do it now. As a kid, I was avoided in skin to skin contact so many times since people thought my arms and hands were disgusting and they might get the rash. The photos don't really show it off that well since I didn't actually think this product would work. I've had Tinea Versicolor for over 10+ years. Randomly appeared when I was really young living in Texas. Went to multiple dermatologists and doctors and none of them could ever figure it out so I gave up at 13 and stopped going to doctors. I'm 22 now and finally got fed up with the random skin coming off after a hot shower or if I sweat. As well as the discoloring. I went to google and spent hours looking at rashes. Gross. Eventually, I came across something that looked like what I had and this soap was something I had found multiple times in multiple sources to use. If you have a hunch of having T.V. then try this stuff out. I'll be buying this a few more times since one bar knocked out 90% or so of the T.V."

Cleared Up My Tinea Versicolor In 7 Days!

ALL MY TINEA VERSICOLOR IS GONE! It has now been over a week since I started using this soap. I have been using it every day on most occasion and on some occasions using it every other day. I usually lather myself up in the shower and then leave it on for a couple minutes. Some of the more stubborn spots took longer to heal but they are gone. I'll update again if something changes.

I do not want to post pictures of my tinea versicolor because frankly I am embarrassed to show it so you will just have to take my word for it lol. I used this soap for the past week and have noticed a significant decrease in the amount of the patches on my body. This fungus is absolutely ruthless and has made my skin look awful. I have tried multiple other remedies and nothing seems to help decrease or keep it away. The larger patches and redness of the tinea have decreased and some have gone away completely. I still have large patches on my back that still need time to heal, but I am certain that in time they will go away too. I will update again in a couple of weeks.

Also, just a small tip. You can cut each bar of soap into 1/2 and save the rest in the box for when you use up the first half. I thought this was the better option instead of having the bar just sit in the tub for longer than it needs to :)
