Do I need to wipe down the areas that have been sprayed?
Treated surfaces must remain wet for 10 minutes and air dry or wipe up excess liquid. Do not breathe in the spray.
    • Rinse with potable water (drinking water) after use on surfaces that come into contact with food.
    • Rinsing floors are only necessary if they are to be coated with a finish or restorer.
What are the steps to killing mold from walls, surfaces, etc.? Will this product also remove the stain left by the mold?
BenzaRid will kill all mold; however, it does not remove the black color. It is 100% possible to kill mold without changing its color. Only bleach or high-strength hydrogen peroxide will bleach the color out; however, neither bleach nor high-strength hydrogen peroxide will kill the mold!
    • BenzaRid can prevent the spread or regrowth if the water problem is fixed. BenzaRid kills mold without bleaching it out. Getting rid of the mold for good starts by killing all the growth.
    • The second step is thoroughly cleaning the area with bleach or high-strength peroxide. This step will diminish or remove the stain left behind by the mold.
    • The last step is to respray with BenzaRid disinfectant as a safeguard. This will prevent the regrowth or spread of the mold once the original water problem has been fixed. Some mold remediators may go over the area with a fungicidal sealant or a fungicidal coating to entirely prevent mold regrowth in the future, especially in high-humidity areas.

How does BenzaRid help with mildew control in damp areas like my shower or laundry room?

    • This formula works great on walls, floors, and other hard, non-porous surfaces such as chairs, countertops, sinks, glazed tile, glazed porcelain, and even bed frames.
Can I add this to the laundry? If so, how much (I have one of those small, portable washers I use in the tub)?
You can add this to laundry to disinfect anything cloth, including clothing.
    • Use 2-4 cups in a typical laundry machine run on a long cycle with hot water. Hot water is best for sanitizing and sterilizing the material; however, if it cannot be washed in hot water, it is okay to wash it as the directions call for it.
    • Use 1/4 of the typical laundry detergent you would typically use, including "High Efficiency" detergent. Run the cycle and ensure the soapy feel is out of the material. If it feels soapy, then rerun it with NO detergent. Then dry as usual.
What does it mean to have an "approved kill claim?"
Once a disinfectant gets officially EPA-registered, it allows us to legally promote the disinfecting virus-killing claims on our product's packaging and advertising.
